About Us

History

The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada is a unique World Record breaking kitesurfing event bringing together the kitesurfing industry and community to raise money for charity.

The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada started last year as a Snow-Camp organised charity fundraising event. Snow-Camp run a range of events each year to help raise funds for their work with disadvantaged young people (please see: http://www.snow-camp.org.uk/events) and since they have two keen kitesurfers on the staff team, this had always been an event they hoped to be able organise at some point. They met Lewis and he supported the charity and they told him the idea for the downwinder. Lewis was up for it so the planning and hard work began!

In 2013, the Kitesurfing Armada successfully launched, setting a new World Record with 318 kitesurfers rideing together and raising over £70,000 for its supported charities.

This year we are taking the event to new heights, with more riders and an action packed weekend festival of kitesurfing, music, entertainment and overnight camping.

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Virgin as our Title Sponsor for the first 5 years of the event.

Vision

The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada aims to bring  together the Kitesurfing community, raise funds for charity and positively promote Kitesurfing.
